Since putting this article up on 27th March 97% of votes on our community poll have voted in the affirmative that Endosulfan should be banned in Australia!
Australia, unlike more than 60 other developed countries worldwide, have chosen not to implement a ban on endosulfan, an insecticide used in conventional farming that has some real nasty stuff going on. Endosulfan is now regarded globally as a POP chemical (Persistent Environment Pollutant), sharing the same characterisitcs as the pesticides, dieldrin and heptachlor, already banned worldwide. Until the Australian farming community comes into line with worldwide trends and removes Endosulfan from use then only certified organic produce can be used as a safe alternative.
